Video Ideas for Boosting Content Marketing

Written by Joshua Feinberg | Oct 7, 2021 7:00:00 PM

Nearly 2 billion people around the world watch videos on YouTube. With that in mind, perhaps your company has decided to get (way) more serious about investing in ideas for video-based content marketing.

Video is still an excellent option to boost content marketing results. In many cases, video should be the default option for starting your content marketing.

Most content marketing initiatives aim to educate and build trust with your target buyer personas

What better way to build trust than using video?

So your prospects and customers begin to feel like they already know your company and your team.

This is predicted by the mere-exposure effect, also known as the familiarity principle. ('psychological phenomenon by which people tend to develop a preference for things merely because they are familiar with them.' Wikipedia)

For most basic thought leadership content, I recommend that most people start with a video shoot -- which nowadays can be done remotely when needed, for example, by hosting a webinar or video podcast interview.

And video is a fantastic format for repurposing.

A 60-minute webinar recording can be repurposed into five or more short video excerpts to promote the full recording. Perfect for sharing to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels!

The webinar recording (video) can be easily turned into a podcast episode (audio).

And the transcript from the video can be turned into long-form content (eBook or report), short-form content (series of blog posts), and micro-content (social media posts).
